You choose the AI
Connect to Anthropic Claude (best for tool use), OpenAI GPT-4o, Azure OpenAI (for existing Microsoft enterprise agreements), or Ollama for fully air-gapped local AI. You bring your own API key, control costs directly, and switch providers with a one-line config change. Atlassian Intelligence and Rovo offer no choice — you use Atlassian's AI or nothing.

When to use which
Use Atlassian Intelligence if you're on Cloud Premium/Enterprise, want free AI features with zero setup, and have no data residency concerns. It's good for individual productivity — summarizing issues, converting natural language to JQL, generating text. Start here and see if it's enough.
